An established news organization should not go to this extent. Merin got widespread support for her objection.



Merin recently got public attention when as Kollam Police Commissioner she went all the way to Riyadh to arrest a rape accused. The 38 year old man had raped a 13 year old girl and had fled to Riyadh (Read India Today Report on this issue).
