Sudheer Kumar Reddy is an IPS officer with a difference. Seldom you will find an officer with such a powerful connect with the people of the district he is posted to. He is the man who doesn’t fear in taking on mighty, irrespective of possible ramifications. He was sent to communally sensitive Dakshina Kannada to control law and order which he did within few days. However, he soon started to take on powerful sand mafias of the regions who were politically connected to both Congress and BJP politicians. 



The result – instantly transferred to a different district. People of Dakshina Kannada vociferously protested over the social media against this vindictive order of the Government without any success.

C. H. Sudheer Kumar Reddy was born in Narsaraopet of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. He used to have a dream of becoming an IAS officer since childhood. He was never interested in Engineering, which his parents persuaded to go for. Sudheer did B. Tech from Pondicherry Engineering College. Soon after that, he started preparation for Civil Services Examination.
Sudheer cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2009. His All India Rank in this examination was 167. He missed his dream of becoming an IAS by few seats. He got settled with IPS and Karnataka cadre. 

However, that didn’t douse the fire under him to do some positive impact in the society. His short career is a testimony of his brilliance and this resolve. People of Mandya and Bidar sorely missed him, and Dakshina Kannada is now added in this list.

Sudheer Reddy is married. He got married soon after completing IPS training from Hyderabad. The couple has one cute son.
