Shailendra Kumar Mishra is a 2009 batch Indian Police Service Officer with Jammu and Kashmir cadre. He is a highly educated person. He had a dream of becoming an IAS officer since childhood. However, his category (unreserved/general) and low rank couldn’t ensure IAS. He had to contend with IPS.

The category again came into the picture when he was given Jammu and Kashmir, which he had not preferred.
