M. Kanimozhi: Husbands and Boyfriend

Muthuvel Karunanidhi Kanimozhi is the daughter of veteran politician Karunanidhi and his third wife Rajathi Ammal. She is considered as a literary gem as well as the true heir of her father in the arena of arts and literature. Unfortunately, she has been involved in the infamous 2G corruption case. Her closeness with tainted A. Raja was the main reason behind this dent on her rather spotless life.



Apart from her political and art career, Kanimozhi’ personal life is also quite interesting.

When Kanimozhi turned 20 years old, her father Karunanidhi got her married with a billionaire businessman named Athiban Bose. At that time, Karunandihi was the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. On the wedding day, V. P. Singh had taken oath for the post of Prime Minister of India along with Devi Lal as Deputy Prime Minister. After taking oath, Devi Lal went to Chennai using special Indian Airforce Aircraft to attend this marriage. Apart from him, lots of powerful people attended the ceremony.

Athiban Bose was 25 years old at that time. He was the heir of match and gun powder business tycoon of Sivakasi. Karunanidhi got success in getting one of the richest persons of Tamil Nadu for his young daughter.

Unfortunately, this ‘arrange marriage’ couldn’t last long. They mutually filed for divorce without letting people know about the actual reason behind a love live turning acidic.

After getting separated from Adipan, Kanimozhi started to focus on poetry. She also worked with the prestigious The Hindu Newspaper.

G. Aravindaan, a Singapore based writer, had published some of her Tamil poetry. He had also arranged a literary meet of her in Singapore. Gradually, they fell in love and decided to get married.


Kanimozhi married Aravindaan in 1997. After marriage, she was settled in Singapore for few years. The couple has a son named Adithyan.

A. Raja. is also rumoured to be her boyfriend. However, there is no credible information about this.
