Rohini Acharya, Laloo's Daughter: Profile, Family and Husband

Rohini Acharya is the second daughter of Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. She is considered as the brightest child of Lalu’s nine children. Apart from her marriage, there is not a single controversy against her. She is bright and modern. She has been in the USA for long. She has also shown absolutely no interest in the politics.

In this context, it is suprising to note that some journalists have claimed that Lalu is pondering about projecting her to become the next deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, if Tejaswi has to resign. There is no denying that Rohini being a highly education woman with no controversy attached to her persona can become a successful politician, if she wants to be.



Profile of Rohini Acharya

The surname of Rohini has surprised many. Actually, during his formative years as a student leader, Lalu Prasad Yadav was against prevalent caste based identities in the Indian politics. He was averse of giving his children a caste identity. That is why he named his first daughter Misa Bharti and gave a Brahmin surname to his second daughter. In the later years, Lalu rejected this thinking start to freely use caste for his political identity.

Rohini did schooling from Patna. Later, she took admission in the prestigious MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur on the CM quota and did MBBS. Unlike Misa Bharti, she was considered a bright student and no one has claimed any wrongdoing on part of her as far as her educational qualification.

Rohini had also plans to do medical practice. But, after marriage, she didn’t go ahead with that and became a home maker. Meanwhile, she remained a student and people who knew her claim that she is a voracious reader.

Husband of Rohini Acharya

Rohini is married to Rao Samresh Singh, the son of a retired Income Tax Officer and a college friend of Lalu Prasad from Patna University. The marriage happened in 2002 which was also the peak of Lalu’s Jungle Raj. In fact, Rohini’s marriage is the only black spot on her rather scintillating personality. Sadhu Yadav and other RJD goons created a terror in Patna and lifted vehicles from car show rooms for the marriage.

Rao Samresh Singh is a senior Software Engineer/Project Manager and currently working in the USA.
