D. Roopa, IPS: Profile, Husband, Family, Age and Salary



D. Roopa Moudgil is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2001 batch belonging to Karnataka Cadre. She has always remained in news for her proactive role in managing law and order. It is tough to find a police officer with such a credible work record spanning around 15 years of services. It is also worth noting that she never shied away from taking firm stand on controversial issues related to social harmony and corruption. She has been at the receiving end from both BJP and Congress politicians.

When Anupama Shenoy, a brave DySP of Karnataka was humiliated which led to her resignation, Roopa openly supported her and tried her best through her social media pages to make people aware about the real issues. Similarly, she fought a ‘battle’ against young and popular BJP MP of Mysore Mr. Pratap Simha on Facebook.

Only recently, her report about Sasikala in Bengaluru Jail has created a sort of political turmoil throughout India. Her report was not only against Sasikala, but it is an eye opener for people to see the prevailing corruption going on in Indian Jail in the name of providing special amenities to powerful people. Needless to say, senior Police officers are angry and pondering over taking action against her.

 And, the politicians of Karnataka have again shown their true colors. An honest officer D. Roopa has been punished for her honesty. She has been transferred within one week of her report exposing preferential treatment given to Sasikala and Abdul Karim Telgi for huge sums of money. Following is the transfer order.





Biography and Wiki of D. Roopa

D. Roopa was born and brought up in Davangere, a small town famous for Bapuji Engineering College and Cotton farming. Her maiden name was Roopa Divakar. She belongs to a highly educated family. Her parents always ensured to provide the best possible education to their children – Roopa and her sister Rohini. Naturally, both sisters did wonder in their chosen field. 

Both Roopa and Rohini had cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination. Roopa became an IPS officer, and Rohini got Indian Revenue Services (IRS). Just like Roopa, Rohini is also regarded as an honest officer who has already unearthed many corrupt practices.

Roopa is not so young. Yet, she is widely followed by youngsters because of her mesmerizing looks and physical attributes. It is quite natural that people want to know more and more about her personal life and relationship status.

D. Roopa is married to Munish Moudgil. They got married in 2003. Munish is basically from Punjab who had cleared IIT JEE and did Electrical Engineering (B. Tech) from IIT Bombay. Later, he also cracked UPSC Civil Services Examination and got Odisha Cadre. He is an IAS officer. They got hooked during foundation training at Mussorie and later decided to get married. The couple has one daughter and a son.
