Soni Sinha was born and brought up in Mau. She studied from a local school. She has always been a prolific singer and had dream to make it big in the Bollywood. However, she was not having resources to go to Mumbai and make an attempt there. Her family was also against her going to Mumbai.

However, she got an opportunity in a music TV program of popular Bhojpur channel Mahua. She represented Mau in the program and had attracted attention of viewers. She couldn’t win the title, but had impressed many Bhojpuri music directors. Having made a name for her, it had become easier for her to get singing offers.
In last two years, she is a burgeoning profile where a series of chartbusters have been released in her voice. She is also not showing any shy from singing double meaning songs.

Soni Sinha was in a relationship with a guy named Rahul Kumar who was also from Mau. They were planning to get married in future. However, the success of Soni ensured that there was less time for her to be spent with Rahul. She was still in love, but the professional demand was compelling her to get away from that relationship. Miffed with all this, Rahul attacked Soni when she had returned after shooting a Bol Bam video from Varanasi. Rahul tried to slit her throat, but couldn’t do that.
