SRP Kalluri, IPS: Profile, Wiki and Family Details

SRP Kalluri is one of the most respected IPS officers of India. He has single handedly fought against barbaric Maoists and during his stint at Bastar the Red Terrorism was on the wane. Such was the terror of Kalluri that hard core Maoists started to avoid coming to Chhattisgarh. They were hiding in Odisha. Urban Naxals had to take command to discredit Kalluri. Thousand of articles were written about him showing how he is tormenting innocent tribals. Those intellectuals who have never been to Bastar region published so called well – research articles elucidating atrocities committed by security forces on the order of Kalluri. An atmosphere was created to make Kalluri a villain. If you search anything about Kalluri, you will find hundreds of articles showing his brutality. You may start to believe that Kalluri is really a demonic figure disregarding basic human rights to the poorest of poor.



The reality is starkly different. Kalluri is not like that. He had saved tribals from the clutches of Maoists. He saved many CRPF personnel.

However, Raman Singh government transferred him for one of his statements against human right activists. The Government fell into the prey of Urban Naxals. Result : - Two major attacks on CRPF in Sukma killing 37 personnel. Without Kalluri, Maoists need not fear anyone.

Maoists Vs. Kalluri

Maoists had even issued a sort of Fatwa against Kalluri. During his two years of stint at Bastar, Kalluri had almost crushed Maoists. He was quite popular among tribals. He was an officer who never slept at offices. Rather he used to spent nights at camps of CRPFs.

Frustrated with Kalluri, Maoists had issued a fatwa against him proclaiming the huge monetary reward will be given to anyone who will kill Kalluri.

Later, Maoists planned to bring Kalluri in the net of sexual harassment case. A false rape case was filed against him by the wife of a killed Maoist. Urban Naxals in Delhi started to write articles proclaiming this so called sexual abuse. Fortunately, the truth came soon and they had to withdraw rape against him.


Profile of SRP Kalluri

SRP Kalluri is basically from Andhra Pradesh. He is a 1994 batch IPS officer. At the time of joining, he was allotted Madhya Pradesh Cadre. However, when the state was bifurcated in 2000, Kalluri opted for Chhattisgarh. The main reason behind his choice was his resolve to fight Maoists. He had gained enough understanding of the region while being SP of Dantewada. In 2014, he was made IG of Bastar region (With seven districts). He changed the face of Bastar during this period.

Kalluri worked on five strategies to counter Maoism – Empowering People, Development, Surrender, Arrest and Encounter in the order. He oversaw a huge program to empower tribals. He ensured development of roads and electricity to the backward region on a fast track manner. He developed a strong network of local informers and with the help of them he encouraged Maoists to come to the mainstream and surrender. Informants also helped them to raid Maoists hideouts and arrest them. Encounter was the last measure used by Kalluri. When nothing works, he used to ruthlessly kill inhuman Maoists. These strategies worked wonderfully and anyone can see result on the ground.

Urban Naxals will do everything to give Kalluri a bad name. But, the reality is a simple fact that Kalluri has a habit of taking risks for the sake of nation. He has already risked his life, but has saved hundreds innocents from the clutches of Maoism.

SRP Kalluri doesn’t live with his family. For the sake of security, his family lives in undisclosed location. Maoist can do anything to weaken the man they hated the most.
