Eklavya Singh is the current Deputy Mayor of Dhanbad. He succeeded his brother the maverick Late Niraj Singh. It is said that the Eklavya was the pillar which helped Niraj to control a faction of Janta Mazdoor Sangh (the coal trade union formed by legendary Mafia Surya Dev Singh). Eklavya is considered a man of short temper who takes decision on the spot while Niraj was a cool minded person with soft spoken voice and ever smiling face. The brutal murder of Niraj Singh has made people think about Eklavya and what action he might take.

Eklavya was born in the Singh Mansion, Dhanbad. Few years after his birth, his family broke all relations with Singh Mansion and shifted to their own home named Raghukul Niwas which is located barely 500 meters away from Singh Mansion. The murder of Sanjay Singh (who was ‘Mausa’ of Eklavya) was the main reason behind that sudden turn of events. Since then, Raghukul Niwas and Singh Mansion are fighting for business and trade union interests which were created by Surya Dev Singh.

Eklavya Singh is also known as Chhote Sarkar. In Bihar, Anant Singh is called Chhote Sarkar and his brother Dileep Singh was called Bade Sarkar. Here, Niraj Singh was the Bade Sarkar.

Eklavya Singh has support of Bachcha Singh, his uncle, who has also broken all relations with Singh Mansion.

Eklavya Singh has always remained in the news for wrong reasons after becoming Deputy Mayor. He was alleged to have thrashed a person in a police station for which the administration had withdrawn his body guards.

Eklavya was also admitted in January, 2017 for a mysterious bullet injury. People still don’t know the real reason behind that injury – by mistake or a suicide attempt.

Eklavya Singh is also named as a director of Raghukul Infrastructure Private Ltd., the real estate business of Raghukul family along with his brothers Late Niraj Singh and Abhishek Singh (Guddu Singh).
